Know Your Kayak

  • Uphaul Rudder Up

With the rudder in the UP position the lines lie beside the uphaul jam cleat.

By grabbing the knotted line and pulling the line towards the back of the kayak the rudder will go down.

  • Rudder Down

Pull the knotted line into the jam cleat tight and the rudder will stay down.

Unhook the line from the jam cleat and pull the knot towards the front of the kayak and the rudder will come up.

  • Rudder Keeper Hook

All our sea kayaks are fitted with a stainless steel and shock cord rudder keeper hook for ease of storage and transporting.

  • Starport

Seen here with the keeper hook detached from the rudder is the Starport.

Starports are very useful for holding a flag or navigation light, along with many other attachments.

  • Pedal Assembly

The easy to adjust pedal assembly slides on these rails and notches into one of the spaces as seen here to suit your leg length.

  • Length Adjustment

Adjust the pedal footstop by pushing on the clip shown here as you slide the pedal up or down the track.

Push or pull the footstop from as close to the rail as possible.

  • Rudder Lines

Yellow cord shows the line path on rail side of the pedal assembly, through the top of pedal from the rudder, back and under the footstop, not hooked up on anything to the bow front of the rail.

  • Angle Adjustment

We set the tip toe pedal flaps at 90° on our assembly line.

This reliable alloy adjuster allows you to increase or decrease the angle to suit you.
